Pathways will be heading on its Annual Ski Trip Sunday, January 29th to Mt. La Crosse. The group will start with attending the 10:30 Mass (please wear your Pathways T-Shirt), followed by a pizza lunch in Marian Hall, then off to Mt. La Crosse for skiing from 1:00-6:00 p.m.

The Bible Club will meet Sunday, 29 January from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Education Building to continue the new 24 part Jeff Cavens video series, "Great Adventure Catholic Bible Timeline" that the club began viewing last fall. The series teaches people the narrative story of the Bible so they can understand the plan of salvation history. Please join us!

It’s the turn of those who worship at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays to provide the meals for residents of the Fortney Hotel on Sunday, February 5. Please sign up in the Atrium today to bring food to the hungry. Take a container if you sign up to bring hot dish or salad. They are exceedingly grateful for this ministry.

Valentine Dinner and Dance. Tickets are now on sale in the Atrium before and after all weekend Masses for the St. Mary Parish Valentine Dinner and Dance sponsored by the Joseph Club on February 11. They are priced at $25 each and include dinner catered by Borgen's Cafe and dancing to the live sounds of the Time Travelers. Family and friends are welcome. Please join us for an evening of good food, dancing and entertainment.

Today, another month of the Parish Prayer Calendar is part of our bulletin. Please join the PCCW in daily prayer for special concerns, families, individuals and clergy. If you are new to our parish - welcome as a new member- you will be mentioned specifically next year. If a loved one has joined the Lord or moved from our parish, they will be remembered individually in this year's calendar. In such a prayerful way we can connect with all members of our parish. "O' Lord, let us let YOU do what you want to do through us today."

Many people have discontinued their landline phone service and use only their cell phones. Please review the insert containing the Mother Cabrini Phone list and advise the parish office (637-7711 or stmaryparish@mwt.net) of any incorrect information. Thank you for your assistance.

Last Sunday, we observed the 38th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, the U.S. Supreme Court decisions legalizing abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy. We mourn the passing of millions of unborn children. Our parish is participating in a program offered by Birthright of La Crosse to respond in a positive way to help women facing pregnancy in difficult circumstances. Birthright has been helping mothers and their babies in our community with non-judgmental, loving assistance for almost 35 years. If you wish to take part, please take a baby bottle home and put in pocket change for the next few weeks. We’d like all bottles returned, empty or full by the weekend of February 11/12.

Project Seed Support Program is a program sponsored by the Diocese of La Crosse. To date, Project Seed has annually helped provide thousands of dollars to farmers who have fallen on hard times and just need a little help to get back up. However, the need has exceeded the resources. So now we are asking for help in sowing some financial seeds in the form of a donation to Project Seed. With your help, we will continue to help farm families succeed. Please prayerfully consider a donation to Project Seed. Send to Project Seed LLC, Office of Ministries and Social Concerns, Diocese of La Crosse, PO Box 4004, La Crosse, WI 54602-4004. Thank you!

The yearly Catholic women's retreat, "Embracing Your Call to Holiness" is being held in Altoona on Saturday, March 3 from 8:30 to 3:30. Every woman has a special ability to care for others and their needs. Sometimes we ourselves need to be replenished. Registration forms are on the bulletin board in the Atrium. Speakers, breakfast items, confession, adoration time, and Mass are included in the day's events. The topics include "If You Knew the Gift of God – A Discussion on the Dignity and Vocation of Women". More topic information is available on the bulletin board in the Atrium and will follow in the bulletin the coming weeks.

Lifeline Screening will conduct health screenings at St. Mary's on Friday, April 13, 2012. Registration information will be available in early February.
