October 14, 2010 Minutes of the Parish Finance Council Meeting
Thursday 14 October 2010
Rectory Meeting Room
1. Father Cook started the Finance Council Meeting with a prayer.
2. The meeting began at 5:00 pm. Present were Father Cook, Chuck Steinhoff, Dale Pertzborn, Mike McMahon and Paula Cina. Teresa Gutenberger and Ray Krause were excused.
3. Minutes of the last Finance Council Meeting of 21 July 2010 were read and approved.
4. Review of the following:
a. Account Transactions for July/September were read and approved.
b. Monthly Comparisons for July/September (2009-2010) were read and approved.
5. Review of Finances:
a. Diocesan Annual Appeal – 2009/2010 ($1,708.16 over target of $35,863.84)
b. Diocesan Capital Campaign, "We Belong to Christ" – Cash to date $292,583.50 ($46,583.50 over target).
c. Parish Endowment Trust Fund: Market value: $55,069.73 (as of 10/14/10)
6. Capital Improvements and Property Matters:
a. Old:
i. The middle legs of the church kneelers were installed.
ii. Gunder Furniture will be call to find out if they would repair the ends of the church pews.
iii. The discussion of staining the church pews needs further discussion.
iv. Ultimate Concrete will be called again concerning the tile in the church storage room.
v. The Church roof does not need to be shingled for a few more years.
vi. Father Cook is looking for a recliner and desk for his office.
vii. Some of the new carpeting in the Rectory had been installed.
b. New:
i. The beaver-system in the Rectory furnace room should have a life time warrenty.
ii. The church sign on Broadway needs attention, some of the screws are loose.
7. New Business:
a. Joseph Club would like to sponsor a parish dance in December.
b. A list of Rectory improvements of the lower level was gathered by the Joseph Club and presented to Father Cook. The list was presented to the Finance Council for their information.
8. The meeting adjourned at 5:45 pm. The next meeting will be Thursday 16 December 2010 at 5:00 pm in the Rectory Meeting Room.
