September 22, 2011 Finance Council Meeting
22 September 2011
Meeting was opened with a prayer.
Roll Call Father Francis, Chuck, Teresa, and Sue were present. Absent Ray Krause, Dale Perztborn, and Mike McMahon.
Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed. Motion by Teresa and seconded by Chuck to approve the minutes.
Review of Statement of Activities and Account Reconciliation report. Motion by Teresa and seconded by Chuck to approve the reports.
Review of Finances: Diocesan Annual Appeal and Diocesan Capital Campaign ("We Belong to Christ") and Parish Endowment Trust Fund.
Capital Improvements and Property Matters
Old Business:
Pew end replacement in process.
New landscaping in front of rectory and garden to be deferred until spring.
Rectory furniture (chair) to be purchased at a later date at Fr. Francis' discretion.
Garage Pay Keith for additional work performed as per new invoice and explanation.
Front Door Ministry In Fr. Francis' absence, Sue is to continue to use her best judgment in processing requests for aid using Fr. Cook's notes for reference on a case-by-case basis.
New Business:
Cantor job description & compensation considered and decision was deferred to a later date.
Fr. Francis requested financial assistance for Bishop Essien to dig a well at a school in his diocese in Ghana. A second collection will be held to raise funds and the parish will donate an additional $1,000.00 to the project. Motion by Chuck and seconded by Teresa.
Mary Steinhoff has received bids for replacing the old toilets in the education building. Bids will be considered at the next meeting.
Next meeting scheduled for Thursday, 17 November at 5:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
